We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team! The Staff Accountant reports to an Accounting Supervisor. The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in the general accounting and financial reporting process. This role requires a working knowledge of financial statements, general ledgers, and other foundational accounting principles. This role will participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures, working closely with other departments.

Your Challenge:

  • Assist in AR Cash Receipts Posting as needed.

  • Submit wire transfer requests for payments to domestic vendors / InterCompany.

  • Reconcile Corporate Trial Balance (Bank Activity) on a weekly basis.

  • Reconcile Accounts Payable and Receivable on a monthly basis.

  • Process General Ledger transactions.

  • Post journal entries as part of the month-end close process for inventory reserves, prepaid expenses, AP accruals, and etc.

  • Process requests for a cost rollup or corporate approvals.

  • Maintains the fixed assets subsidiary, depreciation, deferred costs & revenue schedules and reconciles to the general ledger (FA-in-Process & PPE Roll-forwards, Deferred Costs & Revenue Schedule).

  • Prepare and record journal entries related to balance sheet and income statement activity according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.

  • Assist in physical count of fixed assets based on Control GAP Remediation Plan.

  • Reconcile all assigned Balance Sheet Accounts.

  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing procedures.

  • Assist with internal and external audits.

  • Apply accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.

  • Other projects/reports as needed.

What you bring:

  • Accounting Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3-4 years' experience working in an accounting field.

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and other applicable accounting principles.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, and other advanced formulas.

  • General proficiency in other Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

  • Well-organized and detail oriented.
