Hardware Design Engineer, Senior

We are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer, Senior to join our facility in Ashburn, VA. You will be responsible for all aspects of hardware development within an embedded systems environment. You will support activities including requirements definition, design capture, debugging, testing, documenting, support, and at the most senior level, may provide architecture, mentoring, and team leadership.

Your Challenge

  • Design, develop and test new embedded Hardware.

  • Support and enhance existing embedded Hardware.

  • Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement.

  • Analyze marketing and engineering requirements and develop design alternatives.

  • Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.

  • Provide input to architecture and design reviews.

  • Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products.

  • Keep current with embedded Hardware trends and share knowledge.

  • Perform design verification of products.

  • Contribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for products.

  • Assist in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.

  • Bring a Self-Starter, Highly Motivated Attitude to the role.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.

  • 10 Years of Board Level Hardware Design Experience.

  • Embedded Processor Design.

  • Embedded Memory Design, DDR3 and above.

  • High Speed SERDES Design, 5 GT/s and above.

  • On-board Point of Load Power Supply Design.

  • Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Analysis Tools and Measurement.

  • PCI Express and Ethernet Architecture Familiarity.

  • Design for Extended Temperature.

  • Design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics) and experience with PWB constraint management is a plus.

  • Hardware debugging tools -- analyzers, scopes, emulators.

  • Hardware engineering processes, standards, and product configuration management system is an asset.

  • Experience with requirements capture analysis and tracking are an asset.

  • Proven communication/interpersonal skills.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality, and achieving deadlines.

  • US citizen required ; secret security clearance is a plus.
