Test Engineer

As Test Engineer you will be responsible for the testing, data collection, and communication of data to the engineering staff of multiple pump models and types.

Your Challenge

  • Perform hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and acoustic testing

  • Ensure proper operation of test equipment to adhere to safety policies and practices -- repair as needed

  • Ensure calibrations adhere to test procedures -- calibrate as required

  • Support Assembly department - as needed -- regarding Test department functions

  • Support 3rd party testing -- as required

  • Provide guidance to Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, etc regarding Test department issues

  • Perform training sessions for union personnel or other operations departments as required.

  • Support/Fill in for Test Technician - as needed

  • Coordinate testing with Govt (DCMA) personnel - as required

  • Provide guidance and direction to bargaining unit personnel

  • Implement safety based upgrades

  • Test loop setup -- piping/instrumentation as well as supporting Assembly and 3rd party loop swaps

  • Follow processes and procedures

  • Follow scheduled workloads as needed within the test department based on upcoming tests

  • Attend meetings (Safety, Training, All-hands)

What You Bring

  • General computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project

  • Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge

  • Understanding of pump hydraulics and mechanical principles

  • Scheduling and Planning

  • Familiarity with temperature, pressure, power and vibration measuring equipment.

  • Knowledge of instrumentation calibration

  • Time management, organizational and communication skills

  • Blue print reading

  • Problem solving

  • Training and coaching skills

  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US DOD security clearance

  • Knowledge of rotating equipment; familiarity with pressure, temperature, power, and vibration measuring instruments, understanding of pump hydraulic and mechanical principles

  • Experience working with military quality systems is desired
