Valve Technician (3rd shift)

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Valve Technician completes the activities of assembly, test, painting, final preparation of Farris pressure relief valves to meet safety, production, quality, delivery and cost objectives.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Responsible for working in compliance with mandatory Health & Safety requirements to minimize hazards and dangers present in an industrial workplace. Consistently demonstrates a knowledge of how to work safely by following the OHSA and company health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Support the lean initiatives, goals and projects as directed by their supervisor.

  • Complete the work of the, assembly, test, painting, flatting, and packaging of parts and valves to meet all safety and quality requirements and assembly schedules.

  • Comply with company policies, safety rules and good housekeeping, taking appropriate actions when necessary.

  • Perform assembly and test operations in accordance with written procedures and work instructions.

  • Demonstrate safe and proficient operation of all test stands and equipment as required within testing department.

  • Perform testing on all Farris valve models and products to a high standard of Quality as required by Farris Technical standards.

  • Must demonstrate ability to meet all Safety, Quality and Delivery targets outlined on department metrics board.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Secondary school education or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Lean practitioner experience

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably working with pressure relief valves.

  • Good communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Forklift license holder preferred.

  • Overhead Crane license with experience preferred

  • Computer literate to in MS Office and LN ERP systems.
