Intermediate Hardware Engineer (Designer)

Your Challenge

  • Engineer, Design, Develop and Test new embedded hardware at the forefront of technology.

  • Support and enhance existing embedded hardware

  • Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement

  • Analyze requirements, research and identify solutions and develop the design

  • Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation

  • Provide input to architecture and design reviews

  • Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products

  • Keep current with embedded hardware trends and share knowledge

  • Contribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for products

  • Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years Board level development and hands on lab experience (Co-Op experience is applicable)

  • Experience/familiarity in the following is an asset:

  • Experience working with a multi-disciplined team

  • Familiar with a product development process

  • Familiar with hardware test equipment – logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.

  • Familiarity with principles of high-speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts

  • Design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics)

  • Requirements capture, analysis and tracking

  • Hobby projects with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino

  • Familiarity with FPGAs

  • A passion for following the latest trends in the world of computing

  • A driven and motivated self-starter with a keen interest to learn

  • A strong understanding of electronics and engineering principals and application to real world use.

  • A strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality and achieving deadlines

  • Strong debug and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and written communication skills

  • Results-oriented team player who leads by example, holds themselves accountable for performance, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and champions process improvement initiatives
