Sr Electrical / Electronics Engineer
Designs, develops, and tests a wide range of electrical components, equipment and machinery. Will use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Location: Shelby NC or Charlotte NC or Parsippany NJ
Experienced digital/analog, electrical/electronics engineer, capable of designing three phase actuator motor controllers, digital or analog based, for new product introductions
Design, simulate, implement and test digital electronics using discrete circuits, CPLDs, FPGAs, DSPs, and microcontrollers, and generate firmware using VHDL, Verilog, C++ Design signal conditioning circuits analog and digital amplifiers, analog and digital filters, modulation/demodulation circuits, oscillators, mixers, ADC/DAC converters, digital communication circuits, power drive bridges, and AC/DC switch mode power supply converters to support products design activities
Design feed-forward and feedback control circuits and system/signal compensation electronics.
Generate circuit design schematics, layouts, printed circuit boards (PCB) using CAD tools
Model and simulate analog and digital circuits using simulation tools such as P-spice, MATLAB/Simulink, Model-Sim, and FPGA/CPLD vendor tools (Xilinx, Altera, etc.)
Implement hardware prototypes, breadboard designs, and test them in the lab environment.
Serial communication systems design, which includes working with network protocols (RS-485, Canbus, ARINC 429, etc.) utilizing commercial chip base modules
Generate high quality specifications, reports, publications, and support proposals
Experience dealing with environmental testing for avionics equipment's/components and familiarity with RTCA/MIL standards. Including, DAL certifications for aerospace application and familiarity with RTCA DO-178 and DO-254 specifications
Utilize understanding of digital design process including requirements generation, preliminary design, peer reviews, detailed design, test plan generation, integration, and test
Experience with pre-contract customer discussions, briefing technical capabilities, conducting in-person trade study discussions, including schedule and cost impacts, and shaping technical requirements.
Review vendor experience and capability to support product development
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
4-6 years of experience in similar role
Strong oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of MS Office
US citizenship required
