Software Product Owner

As our Software Product Owner, you are the primary liaison between customers and software development team, defining features that are meaningful and a pleasure to use. You will also help create a compelling long-term vision and strategy by providing insights into user needs.

Additionally, you will work closely with the development team on PacStar’s network management application to translate customer needs into actionable tasks, prioritize those tasks, and ensure the team gets the information needed to successfully complete the tasks.

Your Challenge:

  • Work with internal and external customers to understand their needs

  • Be the customer advocate in internal planning and design sessions

  • Help build the product roadmap and decide which features are needed next

  • Create and flesh out feature stories so they are clear and actionable

  • Continuously prioritize and refine stories and other backlog items

  • Help obtain collateral from the customer based on developer needs

  • Attend Agile/Scrum meetings to ensure development is aligned with the plan

  • Help write, review, and execute customer acceptance tests

  • Create reports and presentations for team, executive, and customer review

What You Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in technical project or product management

  • Experience in the U.S. DoD environment, preferably the U.S. Army

  • Understand software development processes, especially Agile

  • Prefer technical experience with network management or information technology

  • Experience with development process tools like JIRA and Trello

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal

  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Able to travel to customer sites with little notice

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must

  • Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
