Southern California career opportunity for a Sr Manager, Business Development with Curtiss-Wright Defense Division!

Location: Remote (Southern California), with expectation of 40% to 50% travel to West Coast customer sites and CW sites.

Your Challenge:

As a Sr Manager of Business Development for the Airborne applications, you will support across 13 Business Units of Defense Solutions, You are empowered to evaluate and manage new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint venture. You will also oversee market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Access to our customer base of prime contractors and DoD end users is important and we are targeting this position to be based in a location that provides quick access to those West Coast primes and end customers.

Your Expertise:

  • Have a working knowledge of DoD programs relating to airborne applications, including working from initial program concept through development and on through production.

  • Gain access to senior program leads, senior officers, and influencers on DoD airborne programs.

  • Have a working network of contacts in the services as well as prime contractors dealing in airborne application space.

  • Be comfortable in discussing airborne applications with senior program team members, senior officers and corporate executives

  • Strong experience in the DoD Aviation market including customer relationships with acquisition officers at the following offices:

  • US Army PEO Aviation and Future Vertical Lift Cross Functional Team at Redstone Arsenal, AL.

  • Experience selling into the LEO Space market is a plus.

  • USAF Acquisition Excellence & Program Execution offices at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH

  • Aviation user communities within USAF, Navy, Army Aviation, Marine Corps Aviation and Coast Guard.

  • Aviator experience in any of the 5 DoD services listed above.

  • Be self-motivated and comfortable working in a goal-oriented environment.

  • Strong organizational skills, able to effectively deal with multiple meetings, tasks, and deadlines

  • Have strong communication skills, able to effectively communicate with customers and contacts of all backgrounds and educational levels. Well developed written and verbal communication skills.

  • Be able to formulate capture plans and lead capture efforts of multimillion dollar pursuits

  • Be practiced in researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives

  • Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle, working with CWDS Sales team

  • Developing concepts, ideas, quotes and proposals for prospective clients

  • Attending conferences and industry events; Represent CWDS for the purposes of identifying new opportunities for the CWDS division for USAF, Navy, Army Aviation, Marines and Coast Guard.

  • US person required, secret security clearance is a plus

Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000 base plus sales incentive
