Curtiss-Wright is a long-standing company who were at the forefront of aviation. Since its early days in aviation, the Company has diversified into many industrial areas including the Valves Division which supplies Isolation & Control Valves.

We are an excellent designer and manufacturer of spring-loaded and pilot-operated pressure relief valves (PRV), providing over pressure protection in many of the systems found in naval vessels, power generation and chemical/petrochemical plants.

How It Works

As an Engineering/Manufacturing Apprentice, you will receive training from industry professionals in one of Curtiss-Wright's key segments.

You will have the opportunity to work across multiple departments within the organisation, gaining valuable hands-on experience with our experts in both the design and manufacture of our products all whilst earning a Degree level qualification; you will also be required to complete the end point assessment as part of the course.

You will work with us onsite 4 days per week and you will also attend college / university on a day release format in order to complete your Degree Apprenticeship qualifications.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will undertake an Engineering Apprenticeship – Mechanical Fitter Level 3 course at Tresham College

  • Functional Skills in Maths and English, if required

  • You will attend day release at College

  • Health & Safety skills

  • Manufacturing skills of complex small components that require manual dexterity

  • Manufacturing process including lean processes

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Upon successful completion of the course and end point assessment, you can expect to continue in manufacturing or continue your studies

  • Typically, on a rotation, they work with all functions within the Business Unit
