We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!

Curtiss-Wright are looking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing group at our state-of-the-art facility by Bournemouth Airport. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will promote and develop a quality approach in all activities throughout the business. Drive improvement through continuous assessment and monitoring of business data. You will be self-motivated, goal driven, and a team player who can enthusiastically collaborate with other engineers.

Your Challenge:

  • Support the engineering team with new product development and change control activities.

  • Conduct First Article and Initial Sample inspections of components and finished goods.

  • Generate and update PPAP documentation and liaise with customers for approval.

  • Generate and analyse data metrics to enable early identification of product quality and other improvement opportunities.

  • Audit, approve and continuously monitor suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure that product quality and business interests are upheld.

  • Return items to suppliers when deemed not acceptable and liaise directly with suppliers to determine root causes and corrective actions.

  • Investigate and report on the resolution of product quality issues and customer complaints using the 8D format and ensure that suitable corrective and preventive actions are identified and implemented.

  • Develop and maintain business processes to promote best practice throughout the business.

  • Perform product and system audits to ISO 9001, generate audit reports and ensure the resolution of identified non-conformities.

  • Participate in and promote 6S and continuous improvement activities throughout the business.

  • Support customer relationships through scorecard analysis and improvement.

Your Expertise:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent minimum, preferably in an Engineering discipline.

  • Fluent in English and proficient in Mathematics.
